The following Gibson R110D bagpipe was purchased in December of 2000 from Tartan Thistle. It then sat unplayed in a closet until I started playing in 2007. It had its original hide bag replaced with a Bannatyne hybrid zipped bag in August 2007. They were then played for approximately a year and a half before I purchased a set of Naill’s (chasing a sound, nothing wrong with the Gibson’s just wanted something different). The set comes with the following:
Gibson R110D with stainless tuning slides and ferrules, combed and beaded, with imitation ivory projecting mounts.
Gibson round, adjustable blowpipe
Gibson split stock water trap
Gibson poly chanter with stainless band at bottom
Bannatyne Hybrid bag with zip
Black corduroy bag and cords
Wygent synthetic drone reeds
Unknown make chanter reed (easy strength)
Black plastic chanter cap
There is nothing wrong with this set. They have some minor scuffs and such from being carried and played, but you really have to look to see any of them. The bag is still airtight and everything still plays (despite sitting un-played for years, I put them together, struck them in, tuned and played a tune).
